What it takes to get onto the Urology Green List.

A number of factors are considered when placing a journal on to the Urology Green List.

These may include:-

Association with a recognised professional organisation
Reputable publisher
Indexing
Transparent manuscript submission and peer review process
Membership or affiliation with COPE
Reputable editorial board

Some red flags, amongst many, for journals that are questionable for predatory behaviour include:-

Spamming for contributions, often indiscriminant
Lack of transparency for author publication charges
Contact emails using gmail, yahoo, etc domains
Publishers with a track record of predatory behaviour
Use of bogus indexing and impact factor services
Accepting all manuscript submissions irrespective of quality
Obscures identity of country of origin and fake names for journal contact
